Sony PS Vita – Successor to the PlayStation Portable.

With the PlayStation Vita, Sony didn’t see the need to dramatically depart from the PlayStation Portable series (PSP), which had already set a high benchmark in portable gaming. Instead they dramatically improved upon virtual every aspect of its use. The PlayStation Vita features a wealth of powerful new features including, dual analogue sticks for extra control of the action, dual touch pads at the front and rear, dual cameras, a fantastic 5 inch OLED screen, built in GPS, a six axis motion sensor and exceptional connectivity via Wi-Fi and incredibly an always on 3G connection. The dual Cameras are placed at the front and rear to seamlessly allow the game world and the real world to merge in augmented reality. The Vita features a location based service known as “Near”, that allows users to meet friends and new players virtually. Users can also view an activity log that constantly updates with accomplishments for users who are playing the same game, to stimulate communication and compaction. All the leading games franchises are coming to Vita, including LittleBigPlanet, Hot Shots Golf, Wipeout, Uncharted in Uncharted Golden Abyss and many more.

The PlayStation Vita brings handheld gaming into the Next-Gen world. Nothing that has come before has been quite this good.
