Best known for the video games Grand Theft Auto, Max Payne, Manhunt, The Warriors, L.A. Noire, Midnight Club and Red Dead, Rockstar Games is a multinational video game developer and publisher owned by Take-Two Interactive, particularly known for their use of open world, free roaming settings. As of 2014 Rockstar Games had shipped more than 250 million copies of its titles. The largest of its franchises is the Grand Theft Auto series, which has alone shipped over 157 million games. Rockstar pride themselves on producing the kind of games they want to play as they believe that means other people will want to buy them, they also aim to be original and avoid doing what other developers are doing. In 2014 Rockstar Games received the BAFTA Academy Fellowship Award at the British Academy Video Games Awards.
